Saturday, April 16th
12:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Gateway Village (900 W. Trade St.)
On Saturday, festival-goers will walk through a mini-map of the city – all at Gateway Village! Those who purchase Tasting Tickets will be able to taste their way through Charlotte’s most iconic neighborhoods. See our list of participating restaurants and food trucks here.
There will be plenty of FREE entertainment for those who attend the festival without a tasting ticket. Attendees will be able to watch multiple cooking demonstrations on the main stage, shop small businesses (scroll for participating vendors), enjoy live music, sip on beverages from NoDa Brewing and Summit Seltzer, and can purchase food from our participating food trucks.
This event is free and open to the public however, tickets are required to participate in the tasting portion of the event which is from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. (VIP ticket holders get 1-hour early access). Rain or shine.

VIP Tasting Ticket (11 a.m. – 3 p.m. )
Includes: One-hour early access to participate in the StrEATs restaurant and food truck tastings which feature samples from restaurants and food trucks, an all-inclusive bar featuring specialty cocktail tastings from sponsors Woodford Reserve, Finlandia, and El Jimador, and beverages from Noda Brewing and Summit Seltzer, an official StrEATs recipe book that features recipes from participating restaurants, and access to a private event space dedicated to ticket holders. *Tickets are nonrefundable.
General Admission Tasting Ticket (12 – 3 p.m.)
Includes: Participation in the StrEATs restaurant and food truck tastings which features samples from restaurants and food trucks, access to a private event space dedicated to ticket holders, and two drink tickets that can be redeemed at the private bar. *Tickets are nonrefundable.
Free Ticket (12 – 6 p.m.)
Registration is not required for the free portion of the event however it is recommended to help organizers plan.
Main Stage Schedule
11:40 a.m. – VIP Cooking demonstration from Bruce Moffett of Moffett Restaurant Group.
12:15 p.m. – Chocolate design demonstration from JF Chocolat‘s Executive Chocolatier and owner, Justin Fry.
12:35 p.m. – Cocktail demonstration from award-winning Leah & Louise mixologist Justin Hazelton.
12:55 p.m. – Cooking demonstration from Table & Twine‘s Head of Operations Caleb Stocker.
1:25 p.m. – Cooking demonstration from Fresh List‘s Chef Matt Martin.
2:00 p.m. – Cooking demonstration and Q&A with Food Network star Chef Amanda Freitag. Freitag is a judge on Food Network’s Chopped, and has appeared on Iron Chef America, Next Iron Chef, Beat Bobby Flay, and Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions.
3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Neighborhood Cook-offs! Chefs are tasked with creating a dish to best represent their neighborhood. The winner will take home a prize donated by Lodge Cast Iron.
Battle 1: Uptown vs Suburbs – Chef Aaron Dearing of Church and Union will take on Chef Joya of Cooking with Joya
Battle 2: Plaza Midwood vs West Charlotte – Chef Paul Cruz of Calle Sol will take on Chef Corey Jones of Mad Dash Kitchen
Battle 3: South End vs Dilworth – Chef Ken Aponte of Alchemy will take on Chef Hannah Riley of Alternative Chef
Cocktail Stage Schedule
12:00 p.m. – Cocktail demonstration from Yashira “Yoshi” Mejia, Bar Manager of PARA.
1:15 p.m. – Cocktail demonstration from DOT DOT DOT’s Co-Owner and Mixologist Stefan Huebner.
2:30 p.m. – Cocktail demonstration from Lincoln Street Kitchen and Cocktails’ Bar Director Amanda Britton.
